Roger Eastwood

1930 to 2008. Born in Branford, CT, he retired in Venice, FL in 1999.

Roger Eastwood was an award winning professional artist and painted landscapes and animals in nature primarily. While married to Anne Doolittle Eastwood and bringing up four sons and a daughter, Walt Disney tried to hire him but he declined in favor of working as an independent artist.  He was also a published poet with volumes located at the Library of Congress. He has been a speaker for the Audubon Society. In his youth, he held titles as a body builder. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

Roger Eastwood’s art is highly collectible due to the large number of fine oil on canvas and watercolor paintings in private collections. These paintings often come up for sale.

Obtaining a print is a great way to begin a collection of Roger Eastwood’s art. His paintings are noted for his attention to detail. Very few artists are able to paint with such realism and accuracy. Roger was highly knowledgeable on the species and names of plants and animals and this comes through in the accuracy and detail of his unique paintings.

This large collection contains some of his finest work.

Archives of his work beginning at age 3 will be posted here in the future.

The Eastwood and Doolittle family have a rich history of creative achievements.

Eastwood and Doolittle Family Royal Lineage

Roger Eastwood is related to Clint Eastwood, a famous Hollywood actor.

Anne and her children are all descendant of General Jimmy Doolittle, who in response to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, shortly thereafter, some say turned the tide against the Japanese in World War II.

Descendants of American founders and the Plantagenet Dynasty

The planters (Doolittle family) that came from England were descended from nobility and educated. Abraham Doolittle was a Puritan and disagreed with the government and the Church of England.

The Doolittle family was well to do and were seeking religious freedom.  They were afraid the government would confiscate their possessions.

Anne and her children are from the line of Samuel. Samuel (Chief Executive Officer of New Haven Colony in the early 1600s) who was one of Abraham’s sons, was married to Mary Cornwall, (whose father, Reverend Peck, was an original proprietor of Hartford, the capital of Connecticut, [the Constitution State]).

Mary’s ancestry goes back 15 generations to her direct ancestor, John Plantagenet, King of England. The Plantagenets provided England with a succession of 14 Kings.

King Henry II is the founder of English Common Law. He instituted the Assize of Clarendon, in which the procedure of criminal justice was established. His son, King John signed the Magna Carta.

King Henry II is the great grandson of William the Conqueror, the first Norman King of England.
